Indramat MAC Motor

Indramat MAC motors, recognized as AC servomotors, have been designated as legacy motors given that their production has ceased. These motors are initially intended to work seamlessly with drive controllers provided by the same manufacturer, serving as rapid-response servo drives. They're characterized by a laminated core that contains permanent magnets, facilitating electronic commutation and ensuring robust functionality.

The MAC motors are equipped with tacho feedback to monitor rotor position and measure speed using tacho generators. For more precise position detection, they can also be outfitted with encoders. Noteworthy for their maintenance-free lifespan, these motors feature lifetime-lubricated bearings, a brushless configuration, and an IP 65 protection rating. Their performance is highlighted by exceptional output capabilities, cyclic load capacity, and an advantageous power-to-weight ratio.

Designed with sturdy casings, MAC servomotors accommodate various mounting positions and are built to endure both axial and radial forces during operation. Available with or without holding brakes, these motors can be configured with either plain shafts or keyways to suit different shaft-hub connections. The motors are offered in a range of sizes and equipped with distinct flanged sockets on the housing for easy attachment of power, encoder, and tacho feedback cables.

MAC Servomotors Applications

MAC servomotors are deployed in a wide array of applications, meeting diverse functional demands. They are particularly useful in:

- Machine tools

- Transfer systems

- Textile machinery

- Material handling equipment

- Printing presses

- Robotics

- Packaging machinery

Note that these motors are not recommended for intensive applications like press feeds, pressing, and punching without specialized shock-absorbing or damping mounts.

FAQs

Which drive controller is compatible with the MAC servomotor?

MAC servomotors are specifically designed to operate with DSC, KDS, or TDM series drive controllers from the same manufacturer. They are not compatible with controllers from different manufacturers.

What are the optimal operating conditions for MAC servomotors?

MAC servomotors are optimal within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 45°C and can be installed at altitudes up to 1000 meters above sea level. To prevent degradation in performance, it's crucial to avoid exceeding a temperature of 55°C or an altitude of 5000 meters above sea level.

What type of coating is applied to the MAC servomotor?

The housing of the MAC servomotor features a black prime coat that can reach up to 40μm in thickness. This coating provides resistance against diluted acids, alkalis, weathering, and yellowing, as well as preventing chalky deposits.
