Indramat DDS, DKS, DDC Error

Indramat provides a variety of drive types specifically engineered for different applications, each equipped with its unique set of fault codes to identify various errors. Sometimes, you might notice that only part of a fault code is displayed, which can be perplexing. This occurrence isn’t indicative of an issue but relates to the H1 display’s limitation to two characters. Different series of drive controllers from Indramat use variable methods to represent the same error, therefore the presentation varies. If your setup is correct, encountering these errors should be infrequent.

Although the nature of the errors remains the same, how they are depicted differs. For example, DKS and DDS drive controllers show errors with two-character codes, while ECODRIVE systems use four-character codes. For instance, an overtemperature shutdown in a motor is shown as "19" by DDS and DKS controllers and "F219" by ECODRIVE controllers. Having your drive manual at hand generally makes resolving these issues straightforward.

Understanding Indramat Drive Fault Codes

Fault codes in Indramat drives can be checked on two types of displays:

- H1 Display: This is a part of standard drive features. If an error code has four characters, it will display in two segments. For instance, an "F219" error is shown initially as "F2" and subsequently "19."

- H2 Display: For drives that have the optional SERCOS interface, the fault codes can also be displayed on the H2 interface.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What else is shown on the H1 and H2 displays besides error codes?

The H1 and H2 displays are multifunctional, showing not only error codes but also various status indicators that reflect the current operating conditions of the drive. This means that the readouts on these displays aren't exclusively for errors; some also provide general operational status information.

2. How are Indramat drive fault codes cleared?

The drive manual is your go-to resource for understanding and addressing fault codes. It provides detailed descriptions of each code and the steps needed to clear them.
