The VT-VRPD-2-2X/V0/0-0-1 electric amplifier is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-VRPA Electric Amplifiers series. Designed for panel-mounted control racks, this module conditions command and feedback signals so proportional directional valves receive precise current drive. In automated machinery, it links PLC analog outputs with hydraulic actuation, allowing repeatable motion profiles without discrete pilot stages. The board occupies a standardized Eurocard slot and interfaces with system wiring through pinned backplane and front connectors.

The module exchanges digital parameters with external terminals through an RS-232 port operating at 57,600 baud. All onboard logic interprets a digital high level of 24 V, ensuring direct compatibility with common PLC outputs connected to the enable input at pin d18 and the ready feedback at pin d22. The unit’s current driver is tuned for 4WRE 6 and 4WRE 10 proportional valves; their 4/2 or 4/3 spool functions respond to the command signal at pin d30. A dedicated supply path enters at pin z30 to separate power distribution from control references.

Local communications on the card edge are terminated by 2 × 120 Ω resistors, helping keep signal reflections on the internal bus within an acceptable amplitude. Reference generation provides a positive rail of +10 V and a corresponding negative rail of −10 V, permitting symmetrical setpoints for velocity or pressure control loops. The host controller can cycle through as many as 16 digitally stored setpoints, reducing the need for analog recalibration when machines change production batches. The four-pole Pg7-G5W1F connector routes LVDT or pressure-transducer feedback directly into the amplifier. During the enable sequence, the valve driver reaches operational status before the ready output at pin d22 is asserted.
