CCD Motion Controllers

CCD Motion Controllers are Cross Communication Drive devices used to manage direct Ethernet-based data exchange between drive controllers. In a CCD arrangement, the controller serves as the master for cross communication, allowing connected drives to share deterministic control data over an IEEE 802.3 Ethernet interface. The hardware uses RJ-45, 8-pin connectors and supports 100Base-TX communication for drive-to-drive networking. Two Ethernet connection points, X24 and X25, are provided for the CCD link, with status and link LEDs giving visual confirmation of network availability and active transmission. The network is typically installed with industrial CAT5e twisted-pair cabling, supporting runs up to 100 m when connecting to a higher-level control and shorter jumper cables between nearby cabinet-mounted devices. Systems that use CCD can still provide separate serial and Ethernet engineering access, while the CCD connection remains dedicated to cross communication between drive controllers.
