CLC Motion Controllers

Indramat CLC Motion Controllers are coordinated multi-axis control cards used with digital servo drive systems that communicate over SERCOS fiber optics. The CLC series combines real-time motion control with integrated I/O logic, allowing it to support applications such as point-to-point positioning, electronic line shafting, and coordinated robotic-style motion. Different CLC card versions were produced for common system layouts, including VME rack systems, PC bus configurations, and drive-mounted installations. Programming and system operation are handled through the Visual Motion graphical software environment, which uses a Windows-based point-and-click icon workflow and can interface with external PC applications through DDE. A single CLC controller can execute multiple independent user tasks at once, giving it flexibility for machines with several motion processes running in parallel. Depending on axis grouping, the controller can manage two- or three-axis coordinated groups while also controlling additional independent axes in larger systems with dozens of total axes.
