CMP Control Units

CMP Control Units are PCI-based CNC controller cards used as the core control hardware in PC-based IndraMotion MTX systems. The CMP series combines CNC and PLC control functions on a plug-in module designed to operate inside an industrial PC. Different controller versions support different machine sizes, from smaller systems with up to 8 axes and 2 spindles to larger configurations with up to 64 axes and 8 spindles. Depending on the controller class, the platform can also support multiple NC channels and interpolated-axis operation for coordinated machining tasks. Drive communication is handled through SERCOS for intelligent servo drives, while PROFIBUS-DP and Ethernet provide connectivity for I/O, peripherals, and system communication. Optional high-speed I/O is available for applications that require faster signal handling. Higher-performance CMP configurations support sub-millisecond SERCOS and block cycle times for real-time motion execution. Communication with the host PC is handled over TCP/IP through a dedicated internal network connection with fixed addressing, allowing the Windows-based PC environment and the control card to exchange data reliably.
