Two analog channels can each source up to 1 mA and swing to 5 V, so connected instrumentation must present high impedance loads. Eight digital outputs are rated at 500 mA per point with an overall budget of 1000 mA, allowing direct driving of indicator lamps or small solenoids. Encoder return lines may extend to 75 m when sense conductors are used, enabling cabinet placement remote from the moving axis. Deterministic control traffic travels over SERCOS III on 100Base-TX, while the EN2 port accepts EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp or 5 V TTL feedback formats. The encoder supply provides 5.0 V at 350 mA, and a dry relay contact is available for fault signalling at 1 A, 30 V DC. RS-232 maintenance access remains available through a 15 m cable run for local diagnostics.
At power-up the module limits inrush to 4 A for 100 ms, protecting upstream breakers and minimizing voltage sag. During continuous operation it dissipates only 7.5 W, reducing panel heat in multi-axis installations. A service port supports data exchange up to 115 kBaud, offering quick parameter uploads without occupying the real-time bus. The unit also furnishes a power-fail tolerant relay output and differential sense leads in the EN2 path, allowing precise reference maintenance even with long encoder cabling.
