Installed in IndraDrive systems, it manages fieldbus communication, gathers sensor feedback, and issues drive commands so that axis controllers maintain coordinated speed, torque, and position in automated machinery.

This controller accepts two analog input signals, and the pair of 2 analog input channels is intended for process variables such as tension or pressure. Each channel presents an input impedance of 1000 kΩ, minimizing load on transducers that deliver low-energy signals. For discrete sensing, the digital input bank tolerates up to 30 V without damage, registering a logic HIGH whenever the source exceeds 15 V; a LOW is detected below the 5 V off-level. Command outputs to actuators rely on a High-Side Switch topology that sources voltage instead of sinking it, allowing loads to share a common ground reference. The module also provides two analog output channels for speed references or valve positioning, enabling closed-loop interaction with downstream amplifiers.

Load-driving capacity is defined by a per-channel limit of 500 mA and by tolerated inductive kick energy of 400 mJ, so the outputs can handle clutches, relays, or proportional solenoids without external snubbers in many cases. Rotary and linear encoders receive a regulated supply of 12 VDC at up to 500 mA, and the separate Profibus repeater rail furnishes 75 mA from the internal 5 V source to maintain signal strength across long segments. The starting-lockout function expects a 24 VDC, 3 mA signal, ensuring the drive remains disabled until upstream safety logic is satisfied. Together, the dual analog outputs, 5 V Profibus feed, and 500 mA encoder line give the controller the power and signaling headroom required for multi-axis packaging, printing, and material-handling assemblies.
