The module supplies command processing and feedback handling so that IndraDrive power stages can position or speed-regulate motors inside automated machines, conveyors, and assembly cells. By inserting this section into the drive rack, designers add motion logic, bus communication, and encoder management without increasing panel depth.

The control electronics run from a logic supply of 24 VDC, keeping internal processors, optocouplers, and analog stages within the specified voltage margin. For actuator command signals, the board furnishes a type-2 analog output that swings to 5 V, enabling direct connection to voltage-operated valves or test points. Network exchange with PLCs is carried by the SERCOS III master interface, giving real-time telegram cycles and deterministic synchronization across multiple axes. Motion feedback enters through the primary encoder socket that accepts IndraDyn/Hiperface/1 Vpp/TTL formats, allowing single-turn or multi-turn position resolution without external adapter cards. Despite the high channel density, the housing measures only 241×49.5×103 mm, so multiple sections can mount side-by-side on standard drive backplanes.

A secondary port supports HSF/RSF transducers, and resolver coils are excited at 4 kHz, a frequency that minimizes phase lag while keeping copper losses low. Where legacy control loops require simulated position, encoder emulation is Present, providing TTL or SinCos images to downstream devices. Application-specific safety blocks are omitted; the controller is Not Equipped with integrated safety technology, so emergency stop and safe torque off must be implemented in external hardware when required.
