The PPC-R02.2B-N-NN-NN-NN-FW is a programmable control unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the PPC Controllers series. Version 2 of this module is intended for rack installation in RECO housings and assumes the supervisory role inside multi-axis automation cabinets, issuing motion commands and processing feedback from distributed drives and sensors. Its logic firmware is loaded separately, allowing machine builders to match the controller’s operating system to their application software while keeping the hardware platform consistent across different machines.
The controller operates from a rated backplane supply of 24 VDC and its worst-case current draw reaches 1.2 A. Internal regulation provides a maximum of 52 W to the I/O bus, divided into two auxiliary rails that can source up to 2.3 A at 24 V and 3.0 A at 5 V for sensors, encoders, and communication modules. A supply ripple tolerance of 5 % lets the unit remain stable when the cabinet supply is shared with high-demand actuators. These electrical limits determine the size of the external 24-volt power supply and the cross-section of the feed conductors that must be routed to the rack. They also define how many field modules can be powered directly from the controller without adding separate converters.
A protection category of IP20 restricts mounting to closed electrical rooms where airborne debris and moisture are controlled, and reliable operation is maintained up to an ambient temperature of 45 °C. The housing measures 83.7 mm wide, 192 mm high, and 150 mm deep, giving a compact footprint inside standard industrial enclosures. With a mass of 1.3 kg, the unit imposes minimal load on card guides and backplane connectors. Storage limits span −25 °C to 70 °C, and a 5 % supply ripple ceiling still applies when the device is idle, safeguarding electronics during extended warehouse periods.
