XFE01.1-FB-20

The XFE01.1-FB-20 communication module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the XM21 IndraControl Systems series. Designed as a CAN extension for compact PLC platforms, the unit links decentralized sensors, drives, and operator panels to the controller through deterministic fieldbus traffic. By adding two isolated CAN channels, it expands node capacity and allows modular scaling of machine architectures while occupying minimal cabinet space.

For cabinet integration the module carries a protection rating of IP20, meaning only basic finger protection is provided and it must be installed in an enclosure. The electronics are powered from a 24 V DC PELV or SELV source, with the circuitry tolerating excursions up to 31.2 V DC and down to 18 V DC without loss of communication. Heat buildup is limited by component selection that supports ambient operation to a maximum of +60 °C, so forced air is seldom required in standard cabinets. The device mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail (TH 35-7.5) beside other XM21 modules and locks in place with a spring clip. Two CAN ports share a 4-pin (XF70/XF71) connector, and the h and l lines follow the 00,02 / 01,03 pinout for direct drop-in replacement of legacy nodes.
