Its processing backbone is an Intel E620 600 MHz CPU that executes PLC and motion tasks while leaving overhead for diagnostics. Application data are buffered in 512 MB of RAM, and firmware together with user programs reside in a non-volatile area of 1 GB read-only memory. For retaining machine counters or recipe parameters through power cycles, the module provides 128 kB of remanent memory. All logic circuits operate from a single 24 V DC supply, so cabinet wiring can follow common low-voltage practices. One USB device port allows engineering access, and an additional USB host port supports data logging peripherals without external gateways.

On the communication side, a dedicated 1 x 1 Gbit (RJ45) Ethernet interface links the controller to plant MES or remote I/O segments. Real-time motion loops are handled over Sercos with a minimum cycle of 250 µs, enabling time-synchronized positioning across multiple drives. The housing carries an IP20 ingress rating and fulfills protection class III, so operation is limited to enclosed, SELV power zones. Together with its fan-less design, these ratings simplify integration in compact cabinets where convection cooling suffices. Deterministic execution, persistent storage, and multiple service ports combine to provide a scalable hardware platform for mid-range machine builders.
