CSB Drive Controllers are BASIC Rexroth IndraDrive control units used with compatible power sections for single-axis motor control and monitoring. The CSB series covers several control approaches depending on the application. Some versions support open-loop frequency converter operation without encoder feedback, using analog or digital inputs to define the target speed while sending operating and diagnostic status through digital outputs or isolated relay contacts. BASIC ANALOG variants provide a conventional ±10 V speed setpoint interface and can also supply actual-value information to the higher-level control through encoder emulation outputs in incremental or SSI format. Other configurations add fieldbus communication, including PROFIBUS and fiber-optic SERCOS, for cyclic exchange of target values, actual values, and diagnostic data. SERCOS versions also support short communication cycles and synchronized operation across multiple drives. Commissioning can be performed through a standard operator panel or with IndraWorks over the RS-232 service interface, and selected CSB configurations can include integrated safety functions such as Safe Torque Off.
