The Bosch Rexroth Indramat DM 004K 3301-D is a servo drive module in the DM Servo Drives series. It converts rectified mains power into controlled three-phase output for synchronous or induction motors used on automated packaging lines, pick-and-place stations, and material-handling axes. Acting between the motion controller and the motor, the unit modulates current to regulate torque, speed, and position. A built-in SERCOS setpoint interface provides deterministic communication with PLCs and other drives so multi-axis systems maintain synchronized motion profiles.

At the power stage, the inverter delivers a three-phase output of 400 V from a regulated DC link held at 670 VDC; under line swell, the link can rise to 715 VDC. A factory carrier frequency switches the IGBTs and enables a maximum output frequency of 800 Hz, which supports high-speed servomotors. Conduction and switching losses are limited to 96.5 W, an important figure when sizing cabinet ventilation. The 24 V control supply draws only 0.89 A, which helps preserve UPS capacity during emergency stop conditions. Encoder inputs accept incremental feedback up to 1 MHz and sine encoder signals at 50 kHz, allowing high-resolution position loops without external conditioners.

For short acceleration bursts, the inverter can source 6.6 A rms, while continuous operation at the factory carrier frequency is rated at 0.8 A. The selected switching frequency balances acoustic noise against semiconductor heating, and the enclosure rating of IP20 requires installation inside a protective control cabinet. With a mass of 6.0 kg and shock resistance up to 15 g, the drive tolerates panel vibration common in machining centers. Motion commands transmit velocity, torque, and positioning data to the drive, closing the loop between the supervisory controller and the motor shaft.
