HLB Resistor Brake Units

The HLB Resistor Brake Unit series provides added braking-energy capacity for Bosch Rexroth drive systems that exceed the internal regenerative handling limits of the standard drive configuration. These modules are used to absorb regenerated energy during braking and support both continuous and short-duration peak braking demands. With the HLB installed, the drive system can also use DC bus short-circuit braking, allowing connected synchronous motors to decelerate during a mains power failure. The series includes 100 kWs and 500 kWs energy absorption classes. Braking power ratings vary by type, with time-limited braking power of 1 kW or 2 kW and maximum braking power capability up to 100 kW. The units are built for cabinet mounting and use compact formats, with approximate sizes ranging from 65 mm wide by 352 mm high to 100 mm wide by 440 mm high.
