The KDA 2.1-100-3-A0D-W1 is a spindle drive module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the KDA Spindle Drives series. In an automation cell, the drive gates DC bus power to a high-speed spindle motor and interprets velocity references from the machine control, making it central to milling, drilling, or grinding stations that require precise speed regulation.
In operation the drive draws its DC power from a shared supply at 300 VDC, and it can deliver up to 100 A of continuous output current to the spindle windings. Thermal energy is extracted through a mounted heatsink blower that runs on 220 V/50–60 Hz, and the airflow is directed across the fins under Forced Cooling conditions to keep semiconductor junctions within limits. Speed regulation is carried over an Analogue reference channel, so the connected CNC issues a proportional voltage that the drive scales into motor frequency and torque. These electrical and thermal parameters determine cabinet layout, conductor sizing, and the rating of protective devices.
The drive exchanges step-less velocity commands with the controller yet offers an independent channel for a digital position command value when the machine cycle needs synchronized spindle positioning. Internal electronics remain functional between 5 to 45 °C, and reliable service is specified up to 1000 m above sea level without derating. KDA hardware from Series 2 omits a secondary encoder port, so feedback redundancy must be implemented at the motor side if required. Together these environmental and interface figures define the limits for installation and signal planning while complementing the power and cooling data stated earlier.
