Developed as part of the Product Series KDA 3 with Design 2, this drive features a robust Cooling Method: Forced, heatsink blower system powered by a Heatsink Blower Supply Voltage of 220 VAC. Speed regulation is handled via an Analog ±10 V Speed Command interface, while precision feedback is supported through both Encoder Auxiliary Input: Auxiliary & synchronous and Encoder Output Interface: Incremental encoder connections. This modular spindle drive is identified internally as the Product: KDA, ensuring consistent integration across applications.



The drive architecture incorporates a three-phase autotransformer stage that adapts the incoming line power to approximately 1.4 times the system power requirement, feeding a KDV modular power supply that converts 220 VAC three-phase input into the DC bus voltage. A dedicated KDA Asynchronous drive module houses the power bridge circuitry and accepts current commands from the CDM module to precisely regulate motor phase currents. Auxiliary and synchronous encoder inputs enable real-time position feedback, while the incremental encoder output interface ensures compatibility with a wide range of spindle motors. Thermal management is boosted by the forced heatsink blower, which maintains optimal junction temperatures even under continuous full-load operation.



Safety and reliability are reinforced by an integrated overload detector mounted on the heatsink, which employs a thermistor to sense temperature excursions. The overload detector operates from either 110 or 220 VAC, providing a normally closed contact that opens upon reaching critical thresholds, and driving an indicator LED to warn of overtemperature conditions. With its combination of high current capacity, precise analog command handling, and rugged cooling design, the KDA 3.2-150-3-AYI-W1 is ideal for demanding CNC, milling, and high-speed machining applications requiring robust spindle control.
