The KDA 3.2-050-3-L00-W1 spindle drive is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the KDA Spindle Drives series. Designed for metal-cutting and other machining centers, the unit regulates the torque and speed of induction or synchronous motor spindles by converting a stabilized DC link into controlled three-phase output. Its mechanical outline, terminal labeling, and firmware structure match other KDA modules, letting integrators assemble coordinated multi-axis cabinets without additional adaptation work.

Electrically, the drive draws its DC link from a common bus set at 300 VDC, which the internal inverter modulates for spindle operation. The mounted heatsink blower is powered by an auxiliary line of 220 V, 50–60 Hz, and the airflow path runs directly over the power transistors. This arrangement supports forced cooling, so the module can deliver its continuous output of 50 A without derating. Reliable service is specified for ambient temperatures from 5–45 °C, ensuring the control electronics maintain stable switching behavior during typical shop-floor shifts.

Functional connectivity is streamlined. Speed commands arrive through the standardized SERCOS interface, eliminating analog reference wiring and synchronizing the spindle with other drives on the fiber-optic ring. The hardware platform is identified as Series 3, while the build is tagged version 2, allowing service personnel to match replacement boards and firmware sets accurately. No additional interface option is fitted, and the unit does not feature a second encoder input, so cabinet space and parameter lists remain minimal. Installation is approved up to 1000 m above sea level without alteration to current or thermal ratings, provided the allowable temperature window is respected and the heatsink blower air remains unobstructed.
