KMS Electronic Drives are Bosch Rexroth Indramat machine-mounted servo drives used to place drive electronics closer to the controlled axis in compact distributed automation systems. The series is designed for use within Rexroth drive architectures and operates from a shared DC bus, typically in the 540–750 VDC range, with a separate PELV control supply from 30–42 VDC. Unlike cabinet-only drive layouts, KMS units are built for near-machine installation and use an IP65 enclosure to support operation in areas exposed to dust, moisture, and industrial contamination. Integration is handled through defined hybrid cabling for power and feedback, along with standardized connections for I/O, communication options, and safety-related functions within the IndraDrive Mi platform. Proper feedback and motor-temperature sensor integration are important for drive protection, overload monitoring, and correct axis behavior based on the connected motor data.
