It is suitable for numerically controlled machine tools by providing high shaft stiffness and continuous power across a wide speed range. The device incorporates a position control loop employing motor or spindle feedback, allowing precision positioning with a maximum resolution of 1/4,000,000th of a revolution. Key features include 3-phase 400 V input at 50–60 Hz, rated current of 250 A, a built-in mains contactor, emergency circuit breaker, DC braking for power failure scenarios, and an internal blower for cooling. The unit supports an analogue speed setpoint (+/-10 V) and is equipped with an additional encoder input for high-resolution spindle feedback.
