RECO 4SLOT BUS OEM

The RECO 4SLOT BUS OEM rack is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RECO Drive Modules series. It is a passive carrier that houses multiple drive or controller cards, forming the electrical backbone that interconnects power, control, and communication lines inside machinery. By grouping individual modules on a common bus, the rack simplifies cabinet wiring, shortens service time, and keeps automation assemblies compact. It installs next to servo inverters and PLC I/O clusters, providing an organized frame in motion-control panels.

The mechanical layout offers 4 addressable slots, so up to four drive or interface cards can be inserted without additional backplane hardware. Cabinet depth is limited to 56 mm, so the rack fits shallow enclosures or rails near cabinet doors. A width of 182 mm and a height of 217 mm establish the footprint that must be reserved on the subpanel. The housing is rated IP20; it protects live conductors from accidental finger contact but requires installation in a closed cabinet for protection from dust and fluids. The fixed dimensions assist thermal planning because airflow paths can be considered early in the panel layout.

The bus architecture supports up to 16 module locations when four racks are connected in series. The inter-rack coupler supports a maximum of 4 racks on one backplane branch, maintaining signal integrity while extending the drive system across adjacent DIN rails. The carrier attaches directly to a TS 35 × 27 × 15 rail, and the same casting includes countersunk holes for panel-mounting screws when rail space is unavailable. Modules slide in from the front and are secured by a set screw mechanism that prevents vibration-induced loosening during rapid machine cycles. This locking method eliminates the need for latches and keeps tool access straightforward during maintenance.
