RECO-PC-104 A2 LK PSE 4
RECO Drive Modules
The RECO-PC-104 A2 LK PSE 4 is an optical communication module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. Installed in a drive rack, it converts electrical SERCOS telegrams into light pulses so motion controllers can exchange real-time data with servo drives over fiber. The module provides noise-resistant, high-bandwidth communication that maintains deterministic timing in environments containing switching devices and motor cables.
The interface follows the SERCOS standard and routes signals through a single-ended FSMA (IEC 874-2) connector, which provides secure seating and low insertion loss. End-to-end link loss is limited to 12.5 dB, allowing losses from splices and patch panels to be included in the optical power budget. The transmitter has a maximum spectral width of 30 nm, which helps reduce modal dispersion in multimode glass fiber. Its optical output ranges from -7.5 dBm to -3.5 dBm during high-power operation. The receiver accepts signals down to -20 dBm in its high-sensitivity range and continues operating to the low-path limit of -31.2 dBm, providing additional margin for aging or contamination. A ceiling of -28.2 dBm applies when the module uses its low-power transmit mode, which helps prevent photodiode saturation on very short connections.
The optical path supports glass fibers with an outer diameter of 3 mm and a maximum connection length of 500 m for extended machine lines. Plastic fibers with a diameter of 2.2 mm are supported for shorter connections between cabinets and can run for up to 40 m before attenuation exceeds the permitted link-loss window. A reinforced 6 mm jacket is available to protect fibers routed along mobile axes without changing their attenuation characteristics. The module communicates exclusively through fiber optics, preventing the ground loops that can occur when copper network connections join equipment at different electrical potentials.
