RECO-PC-104 G2 LK LAG

The RECO-PC-104 G2 LK LAG is an interface module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RECO Drive Modules series. Designed for installation on a PC-104 stack, the board acts as the primary link between motion controllers and external position feedback in multi-axis machines. By receiving digital encoder data and forwarding it to the drive system, the module establishes an accurate timing reference that coordinates subordinate axes and maintains synchronous motion in automated production lines.

During operation, the module supports up to two incremental or absolute encoders, allowing a dual-channel configuration for redundancy or for combining linear and rotary feedback on the same master axis. Each sensor is powered by a regulated 24 V feed from the board, eliminating the need for external power taps in small cabinets. Signals are routed through a 15-way Sub-D strip, a compact connector that locks to the front bracket and keeps differential clock and data pairs in a shielded bundle. The board accepts EnDat protocol transmissions, allowing it to acquire position data, diagnostic information, and electronic nameplate information over a single bidirectional line. All processing is performed on a local PPC host platform, which timestamps incoming frames and releases deterministic position words to the higher-level drive controller.

The card serves as a master encoder interface. It assigns its sampled values to a real master axis so downstream drives can execute electronic gearing without drift. Power for the digital electronics enters through a 2-way Phoenix plug, simplifying wiring because the supply uses a single detachable terminal. The board conforms to the PC-104 format, allowing it to fit beside motion CPU cards while sharing the same bus and stackable spacers. This compact arrangement preserves access to the front connector and power terminal when multiple boards are installed in the control system.
