The Bosch Rexroth Indramat RECO-PC-104 T3 LK ETH02 communication board belongs to the RECO Drive Modules series. It plugs into a RECO rack to add Ethernet and EtherNet/IP connectivity to motion controllers and power sections. Acting as a TCP/IP server and an EtherNet/IP Level 2 I/O server, the board allows higher-level PLCs or supervisory computers to exchange time-critical process data and diagnostic information with the drive system.

The module supports a maximum data rate of 100 MBaud, so it operates on standard Fast Ethernet segments without external media converters. The board supports full-duplex operation, permitting simultaneous transmission and reception while eliminating collisions on a switched network. Link settings are established automatically because automatic negotiation is enabled in the physical interface, simplifying switch configuration. All signals pass through an RJ-45 eight-pin connector that follows the TIA/EIA-568 pinout. Application traffic is directed to TCP port 5001, which separates drive data from other plant services. A minimum packet interval of 5 ms allows the controller to exchange cyclic updates at typical servo refresh rates.

The board provides visible status feedback through four LEDs that indicate link, activity, and module health without requiring a connected computer. For transactional data exchange, the board reserves two explicit message sockets, allowing simultaneous parameter sessions alongside cyclic traffic. Routine process updates are handled by one polled I/O socket, with timing based on the 5 ms minimum packet interval. A separate maintenance port is available through a DB9 connector, providing an isolated channel for diagnostics without disturbing the primary network path. The TCP/IP server handles communication over the Ethernet connection, while the EtherNet/IP Level 2 I/O server supports cyclic exchanges with compatible control equipment. These separate communication paths allow diagnostic and process traffic to operate concurrently without requiring an external interface module.
