RECO-PC-104 V2 LK DNS03
RECO Drive Modules
The RECO-PC-104 V2 LK DNS03 is a communication add-on manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RECO Drive Modules series. Installed on the PC-104 stack inside a drive controller, the board provides a dedicated DeviceNet channel that links motion hardware to higher-level PLCs. By handling cyclic and acyclic data exchanges in hardware, the module reduces the processing load on the main controller and allows the drive to participate in distributed I/O networks used in industrial automation.
Its data exchange area uses dual-port memory, allowing the drive controller and DeviceNet engine to access the same registers without wait states. Communication starts at the default rate of 125 kbit/s, and the board operates as a DeviceNet slave that occupies a single node while the scanner controls bus timing. Four diagnostic LEDs indicate module status, bus traffic, and error conditions. Four upload and download arrays queue parameter transfers, while process data moves in blocks of up to 128 bytes to avoid fragmented telegrams. The circuitry provides complete galvanic isolation between the network and logic grounds. The PC-104 format allows the module to mount directly on the control board, keeping signal paths short and providing a secure connection.
Each scan can deliver 64 words of process data, accommodating sizable status images. A Phoenix Combicon 5-pin plug provides the field connection, and compliance with ODVA 2.0 supports interoperability with certified DeviceNet masters. The transceiver supports 125, 250, and 500 kbit/s, allowing the network configuration to balance cable length and update speed. Hardware and software timing on the PC-104 bus provides deterministic PPC synchronization. Explicit messaging supports infrequent parameter access without occupying the cyclic process-data channel. All signals travel through the backplane, so external ribbon cables are unnecessary.
