1MB High-Speed Asynchronous Motors
The 1MR160F-A055 rotor is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the 1MB High-Speed Asynchronous Motors series. As a rotor for a 1MB frameless spindle motor, it forms the rotating element that couples with the stator to generate torque in high-speed machine-tool spindles and other automated machining centers. The F motor length code identifies its axial size within the 160-frame family, and the step interference-fit design lets the component seat firmly on the shaft to transmit power without slippage under rapid acceleration.
Its geometry supports precise balance and low vibratory forces. The rotor’s inside bore measures 55 mm, matching the spindle shaft diameter for concentric fit. Axial length variants include a magnetic stack length of 135 mm and an overall laminated length of 200 mm, while the core section between end faces spans 132 mm. With a mass of 10.2 kg, the component combines sufficient kinetic energy storage with manageable lifting weight during service. A polar moment of inertia of 0.0161 kg·m² limits acceleration torque demand, enabling quick speed transitions when paired with high-frequency inverters.
Mounting and service features are integrated into the forging. An anti-rotation pin hole of 4 mm diameter prevents torsional creep between the rotor and hub. Eight axial mounting threads specified as M5 (8×) accept draw bolts for pull-in assembly, and a balancing ring can be secured with a dedicated M6 thread to fine-tune residual unbalance at top speed. During installation the assembler observes a minimum seating distance, dimension A, of 70 mm from the shaft shoulder to assure full surface contact. Additional provisions include a disassembly oil connection for hydraulic release and a ground terminal that uses an unpainted M6 thread to close the motor’s earth path.
