Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the 109-0780-4801-01 as part of the MAC AC Servo Motors series. This servo motor integrates a standard incremental encoder and an internal tachogenerator so a drive controller can receive velocity and position feedback directly from the machine axis. By combining the feedback elements with the motor body, the unit supports closed-loop control for positioning tables, packaging stations, and other automated equipment. The integrated arrangement also reduces the need for separate external sensing hardware and helps keep machine wiring compact. That makes the motor suitable for installations where the drive must monitor both shaft speed and incremental position without using an external measuring device.

The motor’s cable gland and housing meet protection class IP65, allowing installation in dusty or splash-prone work zones without additional sealing. The encoder draws only 150 mA, which keeps demand on the controller’s sensor supply low. With a native resolution of 1250 lines per revolution, the feedback system provides fine position tracking for indexing and speed regulation. Signal transmission uses a TTL Square Wave format, enabling direct connection to compatible differential line receivers. The sensor electronics operate from a regulated 5 V ±5% logic rail and can track shaft movement at rates up to 300 kHz, so rapid acceleration does not exceed the feedback bandwidth. A reference pulse appears once per turn, giving the controller a repeatable index point during homing.

Output gating switches to a high state at ≥2.5 V and to a low state at ≤0.5 V, producing clear logic levels even on long cable runs. The differential drivers switch within ≤200 ns, which helps limit phase error between channels during high-speed rotation. The standard tachogenerator produces 1.5 V per 1,000 rpm for real-time speed regulation, and standard encoder mounting hardware with the tachogenerator-and-encoder arrangement allows the feedback assembly to be replaced without realigning the motor shaft. This layout supports service work when encoder parts need to be exchanged after wear or cable damage. Consistent switching behavior across the logic outputs also helps the receiving electronics distinguish channel states during fast direction changes.
