MCP Linear Motors

MCP Linear Motors are Bosch Rexroth ironless linear motor primaries used in precision positioning systems that require fast acceleration, smooth travel, and accurate synchronization. The series uses a moving primary with a fully potted three-phase copper winding that runs inside a U-shaped permanent-magnet secondary. Because the motor does not use an iron core, it avoids the magnetic attraction forces and cogging behavior commonly associated with iron-core linear motor designs. This helps produce a consistent force profile while keeping the moving mass low for responsive motion. MCP motors are designed for practical machine integration with multiple mounting surfaces and can be equipped with an optional Hall sensor unit for initial commutation. Across the documented range, the series reaches thrust values up to 3,320 N and speeds up to 1,400 m/min, making it suitable for rapid, low-mass motion tasks such as pick-and-place systems, precision measurement equipment, and automated testing machinery.
