Bosch Rexroth Indramat MKE Synchronous Motors are permanent-magnet servo motors designed for hazardous-area industrial machinery requiring both ATEX and UL/CSA compliance. The MKE series uses electronic commutation and is suitable for rotary servo and main-drive applications in machine tools, printing and paper-processing equipment, packaging and food machinery, and metal-forming systems. Motor operation is determined by the connected drive controller, allowing the motor to be applied across different machine-control requirements. The series is built with a brushless, maintenance-free design, lifetime grease-lubricated bearings, overload protection through motor-temperature monitoring, and a fully enclosed IP65 housing. High-dynamic performance is supported by low-inertia magnet construction, efficient heat transfer from the stator to the housing, and peak-torque availability across a wide speed range for frequent start-stop operation. For machine integration, MKE motors use a DIN 42948 flange, support flexible mounting orientation, and are available with housing and connection variants for European and American standards. Options include singleturn or multiturn absolute encoder interfaces and a 24 VDC electrically released holding brake.
