The MS2M02-A0FNN-KMDH1 is an ultra-compact synchronous motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. This unit delivers servo performance for pick-and-place axes, miniature conveyors, and grippers where cabinet space is limited. Cooling is handled by natural convection, and the low motor inertia allows rapid acceleration with minimal overshoot. An electrically released holding brake is integrated so vertical or indexing loads stay fixed when power is removed, making the motor a ready-to-install actuator for tightly spaced automation platforms.

Frame size 2 with frame length A fits compact gearbox inputs, and an M3 mounting hole is provided on the shaft end. The plain shaft is 8 mm in diameter and 22 mm long, shipped without a sealing ring to reduce friction. Quick-lock SPEEDCON M17 connectors and a double metal leadwire cable shorten installation. Rated torque reaches 0.48 Nm, supplied through windings powered by 4.75 to 5.25 V logic. Continuous operation is possible because the enclosure carries an IP65 ingress rating, and the integrated brake secures the load when supply is absent.
Feedback resolution is handled by a 23-bit optical encoder that can be configured for singleturn or multiturn tracking, enabling precise control at the commanded winding speed of 3000 min⁻¹. The brake coil requires 24 V DC, and when engaged the acoustic emission remains below 65 dB(A), supporting noise-sensitive work cells. Operating limits include a temperature window of 0–40 °C and use up to 1000 m above sea level. Despite the integrated brake, the motor weighs only 0.78 kg, minimizing payload on moving axes.
