The MS2M04-A0FNN-KMDL1 is a compact synchronous servo motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. It provides closed-loop rotary actuation for conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and other motion modules where panel space and wiring clearance are limited. The model integrates feedback, braking, and power connections into a single, lightweight housing.
At the electrical interface, an electrically released brake is energized at 24V DC, securing the shaft when power is off. Nominal speed is 3000 rpm; at this point the unit delivers 2.39 Nm while drawing 4.1 A (rms). Transient load peaks reach 7.16 Nm and 12.3 A (rms), supported by a 0.59 Nm/A torque constant and a 20.7 V per 1000 rpm back-EMF constant. Five pole pairs and a phase inductance of 5.10 mH shape current rise, and the low rotor inertia accelerates quickly. An optical 23-bit encoder, selectable as single- or multiturn, reports position over a 4.75–5.25 V line; SPEEDCON M17 connectors and double metal cables streamline wiring. Sound pressure stays below 65 dB(A).
Thermal management relies on Natural Convection, so no external fans or liquid lines are needed, and the housing still carries an IP65 rating that blocks dust and water jets. Within this enclosure the stator winding is rated at 0.75 kW, backed by a winding designed for 3000 min⁻¹ synchronous frequency. Continuous service is allowed between 0 to 40 Celsius, after which derating applies. The laminated core corresponds to frame size 4 and the compact frame length A, giving low mass around the rotor and supporting the previously noted low inertia. A keyed shaft without a sealing ring simplifies coupling while reducing friction, and the brake stays disengaged during motion under encoder control.
