It serves as the rotary actuator in coordinated motion systems, converting drive amplifier output into precisely controlled torque and speed. Integrated position feedback allows closed-loop regulation, so machine tools, pick-and-place gantries, or packaging stations can execute repeatable moves to the commanded angle. The unit fits the MS2N04 mechanical envelope and uses the series’ common mounting geometry, simplifying interchangeability across a multi-axis platform.

Electrical integration is streamlined by a Single cable connection M23, rotatable that carries power, feedback, and brake lines while allowing the connector to swivel toward the cable tray. Precision feedback is produced by the Advanced - 20-Bit, ACURO®Link interface working with a Multiturn - 4,096 revolutions absolute encoder, so the controller receives high-resolution position data across four thousand mechanical turns. The shaft reaches a rated speed of 2000 1/min, and the rotor’s Low inertia profile permits rapid acceleration for short indexing moves. Thermal handling relies on Self-cooling; heat is dissipated through the housing without auxiliary blowers or coolant. A Standard varnish, RAL 9005 black coating protects the stator frame, and standard bearings support the B5 / IM3001 endshield that also houses a PT1000 temperature sensor. The load can be secured during power loss by the Size 1, electrically released brake. Torque is transmitted through a Keyway, with shaft sealing ring, which keeps lubricant out of the motor interior. An additional grounding connection lowers leakage currents, and the low-inertia rotor remains aligned by the standard flange exactness during dynamic reversals.
