The MS2N05-C0BTN-CMSG1-NNNNE-NN synchronous servo motor is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MS2N Synchronous Servo Motors series. This motor belongs to the MS2N05 frame class and integrates directly with IndraDrive controllers to form a closed-loop axis. It converts electrical power into controlled mechanical rotation, providing dynamic positioning, velocity regulation, and high repeatability for pick-and-place stations, tool spindles, and automated handling equipment.
During operation the motor reaches a rated speed of 6000 1/min, enabling direct coupling to fast indexing mechanisms without intermediate gearing. A rotor with low inertia shortens acceleration and deceleration times, allowing tight cycle sequences. Position feedback is supplied by the Advanced – 20-Bit ACURO®Link encoder combined with a multiturn capability of 4 096 revolutions, so the drive reads absolute shaft position immediately after power-up. Power, feedback, and brake conductors are routed through a single cable; the single cable connection M23, rotatable simplifies cabinet wiring and supports quick connector orientation in confined spaces. For load-holding at standstill the integrated Size 1, electrically released brake engages when the drive is de-energized. The design uses frame length C to balance torque density and overall footprint.
Thermal management relies on self-cooling, so airflow around the housing is sufficient for continuous duty and no external fan is required. The rotor turns on standard bearings and the housing is finished with standard varnish RAL 9005 black, creating a uniform conductive surface for cabinet or machine mounting. A dedicated additional grounding connection enhances EMC performance when linked to drive shields. The motor follows the B5 / IM3001 flange pattern with a built-in PT1000 temperature sensor for precise winding monitoring, and flange exactness is maintained to the standard tolerance class to ease alignment. Torque is transmitted through a smooth shaft with sealing ring that prevents lubricant escape while supporting IP-rated enclosure integrity.
