The unit is an electromechanical actuator intended for precise position and speed control in automated machinery and production cells. Its compact form factor, identified with the MS2N03 size designation, pairs with a high rated speed capability to suit fast indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and spindle duties where consistent torque and feedback accuracy are necessary to coordinate motion with modern Rexroth drive controllers.
At a 9000 1/min rated speed, the rotor can deliver rapid cycle times, and the low inertia design minimizes settling after acceleration or direction changes. The motor relies on self-cooling, so no external fan or liquid circuit is required as long as mounting clearances allow ambient air flow. Power and feedback are routed through a double cable connection 2× M17, rotatable, which simplifies cable management when the housing must turn during installation. For high-resolution commutation and position loops, the integrated encoder features Advanced – 20-Bit, ACURO®Link communication. Within the MS2N03 frame length D, the flange accuracy remains standard, and the smooth shaft is supplied without a sealing ring to reduce friction at high speed.
The drive end is supported by a standard bearing, and the rotor is coated with standard varnish, RAL 9005 black that resists oil mist and settling dust. Bosch Rexroth includes an additional grounding connection to ensure equipotential bonding in cabinets that use insulated mounting plates. Absolute position data over multiple turns is obtained from the multiturn – 4,096 revolutions absolute sensor, which works with the previously noted interface. The mechanical interface follows B5 / IM3001, PT1000 geometry, and the unit is supplied without a holding brake, so static load retention must be handled by the drive or external clamps.
