Bosch Rexroth Indramat QSY Synchronous Servo Motors are permanent-magnet feed motors built for NC-controlled machine tool applications using compatible industrial controls and inverters.
The QSY series uses sinusoidal commutation and an integrated rotary encoder to provide rotor position and speed feedback. Available feedback options include the ERN 1387 incremental encoder with approximately 1 VPP output, as well as ECN 1313 and EQN 1325 absolute encoders with EnDat 2.2 in singleturn or multiturn configurations. These motors are designed for smooth feed-axis operation with low torque ripple, suitable inertia characteristics, and a strong relationship between rated torque and stall torque for precise machine movement. Mechanically, the motors use an IM B5 flange-mounted design with IP65 protection for the motor body and IP64 protection at the shaft exit. They also include maintenance-free bearings with a nominal service life of 30,000 hours under defined load and speed conditions, with optional shaft keyway and holding brake configurations available. Thermal monitoring is handled by a KTY 84-130 stator temperature sensor, and absolute-encoder models include an electronic ID label to support automatic motor recognition and diagnostics. EcoDyn versions are also available for selected applications, reducing current demand while increasing rated torque within the rated speed limits of the connected control system.
