SD Magnet Motors
The SD-B3.031.030-04.004 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the SD Magnet Motors series. Designed for closed-loop positioning and velocity tasks, it converts electrical power into controlled rotary motion for industrial automation axes that demand repeatable torque and speed. Its built-in magnetic rotor and integrated feedback allow direct connection to Rexroth drives, simplifying cabinet wiring and reducing commissioning time on assembly lines, packaging systems, and material-handling machines.
Continuous control accuracy is supported by an incremental encoder that generates 2500 pulses/rev, giving the drive fine position resolution while maintaining consistent phase alignment at the motor shaft. During production cycles, the rotor can reach a rated speed of 3000 rpm, a value that balances linear throughput with thermal limits of the windings. The mechanical interface is standardized: a Ø 19×40 mm keyed shaft transmits torque, and a 116 mm square flange aligns the stator housing to gearboxes or machine plates. At zero speed the stator supplies 3.1 Nm of torque, allowing the axis to hold static loads without external brakes under continuous current.
For dynamic moves and short positioning strokes, the motor provides a peak holding capability of 4.0 Nm, giving extra margin over the continuous level for brief load changes. Safe stoppage is assisted by a basic equipment with disk brake, which clamps the shaft when power is removed to prevent drift on vertical axes. Rotor excitation is produced by ferrite magnets, an economical material that supports stable magnetic flux over the specified temperature range. The listed special version integrates an encoder ROD 426.014, so the feedback device is already matched to the internal magnet ring and requires no separate mounting hardware, completing the servo package for plug-and-play installation.
