TVR Power Supply Modules

TVR Power Supply Modules are regenerative supply units used in modular AC drive systems to create and regulate the DC bus for connected servo and main drive modules. The supply takes a three-phase mains input, rectifies it, and provides the DC link required by the drive system. During braking or deceleration, regenerated motor energy can be returned to the mains instead of being wasted as heat. If mains power is no longer available, the module uses an internal bleeder circuit to absorb regenerated energy and keep the DC bus within its allowable range. TVR units also include an internal mains contactor for isolating the drive system and provide auxiliary control voltages to the drive electronics through the signal bus. This helps maintain control functions during short supply interruptions when sufficient DC bus energy remains. For controlled stopping and machine safety integration, the series supports ready and interlock signals and can be configured for DC-bus short-circuit braking depending on the motor type and E-stop design. Reliable installation depends on proper chokes for limiting mains feedback, suitable protective devices, correct grounding, and cabinet spacing that supports heat dissipation.
