NAA 70/2-D

The NAA 70/2-D belongs to the VM Amplifier Drives series and is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a mains connection module, it links the plant supply network to drive amplifiers and houses protection and switching elements so the power section of an automation rack can be energized or isolated during service.

This module is designed for a supply of 400 VAC and can deliver up to 47 kVA at 45 °C to downstream inverters. Over-current protection is handled by a 100 A (660 V) high-speed M1-f1 fuse that clears faults quickly, while an integrated charging connection limits inrush when the DC bus capacitors fill. The internal power contactor closes only after that charging sequence completes. Heat is removed through Natural Convection, eliminating the need for fans and simplifying cabinet layouts. Operation is based on a 3-phase network, and phase conductors are further conditioned by the integrated additional filter to reduce conducted interference. A dedicated high-speed fuse type combines fast melting with mechanical strength, matching the short-circuit withstand rating of the connected drives.

The supply side is synchronized to a line frequency of 50 Hz, so line-commutated equipment upstream does not require derating. With a mass of 8.4 kg, the unit is light enough for single-person cabinet installation yet heavy enough to damp vibration from switching transients. Harmonic attenuation is improved by the built-in Integrated Additional Filter, lowering reflected noise before it reaches other plant loads. All functions are consolidated in a single enclosure classified by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as a Mains Connection Module, which simplifies spare-part planning and ensures compatibility with the VM Amplifier Drives series.
