VT-NE30-20

The VT-NE30-20 is a compact power supply unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-NE Power Supply Units series. Classified as unipolar, single-output hardware, it converts AC mains power into the regulated direct current required by amplifier cards, valve electronics, and other control modules used in automated machinery. Its role in an industrial cabinet is to provide stable DC power so that motion or process controllers remain protected from line disturbances.

Input flexibility permits connection to 230 VAC ±10% or to the alternative 115 VAC tap, simplifying installation in plants with different supply voltages. The unit operates at a mains frequency of 50/60 Hz, so no external frequency converter is necessary. Internally, a filtered single-output stage supplies up to 108 W of continuous power. At full load, the terminals deliver +26 VDC, enabling proportional valve amplifiers and PLC I/O modules to operate within their recommended 24–28 V range. A continuous output current of 4 A is the maximum load that can be supplied without exceeding thermal limits. The output is unipolar, and the filter network attenuates switching artifacts to protect sensitive analog circuitry.

When no external load is present, the regulator rises to +32 VDC, providing a margin that prevents undervoltage trips once downstream equipment starts drawing current. Primary protection is provided by a front-panel 8 A slow-blow fuse rated for the inrush associated with capacitive filtering. Residual ripple is limited to < 5%, reducing noise injection into analog transducers. Wiring terminates on a terminal strip that accepts conductors up to 4 mm², and the unit can be installed with screws or mounted on an EN 60715 rail. The sheet-steel enclosure is version 20 of the series and weighs 3.1 kg. The unit may be stored at temperatures ranging from -20 to +70 °C.
