DSC 3.1-050-115V
DSC Servo Amplifiers
The DSC 3.1-050-115V is a servo amplifier produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DSC Servo Amplifiers series. It converts energy from a shared DC bus into regulated phase current, allowing axes in CNC machines, packaging equipment, and robotic systems to follow torque or velocity commands from higher-level controllers. Installed in an automation cabinet, the unit connects motion control hardware to permanent-magnet motors and monitors current, temperature, and regenerative braking activity during operation.
The power section operates from a 300 Vdc ±15% DC link, providing stored energy for rapid load changes. Under rated conditions, the module supplies a continuous motor phase current of 50 A. During periods of high demand, the output stage can deliver 15 kW to the motor terminals. Regenerative energy is directed to an internal resistor that dissipates an average of 500 W, while thermistors protect the resistor against excessive heat. Motor current feedback is digitized through an Imess path scaled at 150 mV/A, providing the resolution needed for closed-loop control. Electronic overhead is 180 VA, and the integrated power supplies provide 200 mA at 24 Vdc and 50 mA on each ±15 Vdc rail for connected encoders and sensors.
During emergency stops, the bleeder assembly can absorb 20 kW for short intervals. Residual heat produces 360 W of external power loss, which cabinet airflow must remove to prevent excessive internal temperatures. The amplifier can operate at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C and at installation altitudes up to 1000 m. The housing weighs 26 kg, so the mounting surface and supporting hardware must accommodate the load securely. Adequate clearance around the amplifier allows cooling air to pass over the housing and carry dissipated heat away from adjacent modules.
