VT-SR2-1X/0-100

The VT-SR2-1X/0-100 is a plug-in control card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-SWMA Modules series. The board is installed inside a system rack to convert command voltages from a PLC into regulated drive current for proportional valves used throughout industrial automation cells. By occupying only a single card slot, it lets machine builders add valve control without separate standalone amplifiers, keeping enclosure layouts compact and standardized.

All internal electronics are powered from a single 24 VDC rail that arrives through the backplane connector. At its output stage, the card can source or sink up to ±100 mA, delivering the coil excitation needed by most small to medium-sized proportional valves. The reference coming from the host controller must stay within ±10 V; the module linearly relates that voltage to the valve current so flow or pressure follows the external setpoint. Because the interface is analog, no digital serialization or protocol conversion is required, simplifying wiring and diagnostics. Electrical connections are routed through a backplane edge connector with 32 pins, which separates power, command, and output lines into dedicated groups to reduce crosstalk.

The mating edge follows the rectangular Form D outline, providing keying that prevents incorrect insertion during installation. A compact, single-layer printed circuit board keeps the card shallow enough to fit inside low-profile subracks. The assembly weighs only 0.25 kg, so it does not require additional support brackets within the rack. The board has no position feedback channel, so valve spool position remains open-loop. Any closed-loop correction must be performed by an external motion controller that interprets downstream pressure or flow sensor signals.
