SM AC Inverters
SM AC Inverters are modular servo inverter units used within the Bosch Servodyn drive system for industrial motion-control applications. The SM series is designed to operate with a separate supply module and connected servo modules in a shared drive installation. These inverters are used with brushless Bosch servo motors and control motor torque and speed through a closed-loop structure that combines rotor-position detection, tacho feedback, and current regulation. The platform includes several current classes with defined continuous and peak current ratings, a 460 VDC link, forced-air cooling, and a broad speed-control range. Control functions include differential command inputs, enable signals, torque-reduction capability, motor feedback connections, ready contacts, and analog monitoring outputs. Optional diagnostic functions can report conditions such as supply faults, inverter module faults, commutation errors, tacho faults, overtemperature, blocked motor conditions, and speed-monitoring issues. Overall, the SM series supports modular servo drive systems that need coordinated power supply integration, configurable control behavior, and built-in fault visibility for demanding machine applications.
