The DDS03.1-W030-DS29-02 is a servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Installed inside a control enclosure, it receives motion commands from a central PLC and modulates three-phase current so that connected servo motors follow programmed speed and position profiles. By converting digital setpoints into regulated power, the unit forms the link between machine logic and mechanical movement in automated machining, packaging, and handling equipment.
I/O traffic is handled through the SERCOS interface, which synchronizes telegrams on a deterministic optical ring and lets the drive share cycle time with neighboring axes. The feedback channel uses digital servo feedback, providing absolute rotor position data for high-bandwidth current and velocity loops. Continuous output remains stable at 30A, a level suitable for medium-power motors. Internal heat is removed by air, from inside the control cabinet (internal); therefore the surrounding control cabinet must supply enough airflow to keep semiconductor temperatures within safe limits.
Inside the DDS Drive Controllers family, this unit carries hardware index 03, while firmware revision 1 defines its parameter set. Being categorized as a Digital AC Servo Drive Controller, all tuning, monitoring, and diagnostic functions are accessed through software tools rather than analog trim potentiometers. These attributes let system designers align the drive’s electrical behavior with application-specific inertia and cycle-time demands without modifying external wiring or mechanical fixtures.
