DDS Drive Controllers are modular digital AC drive controllers used to build compact Indramat drive systems for servo and main-drive applications. The DDS series allows multiple AC servo and main drive functions to be arranged in a shared drive package supplied by a compatible Indramat power supply unit. These controllers are commonly used in machine tools, textile equipment, printing and packaging machinery, robotics, and handling systems. When paired with supported Indramat motor families such as MDD, MKD, and compatible linear motor configurations, DDS units support dynamic motion applications that require fast response, stable regulation, and coordinated drive performance. The controllers rely on supply units that provide the required regulated 24 VDC control power. Cooling options vary by configuration and include cabinet-airflow heat technology, external-airflow cold technology, and liquid or coolant-based designs that remove a large portion of heat losses from the control cabinet. System configuration is based on the selected feedback interface, with units matched for either digital servo feedback or resolver feedback. A removable software module stores firmware and drive parameters, allowing a configured setup to be transferred more easily during controller replacement.
