Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufacturers the DMA 030A 3301-D for use in multi-axis automation cabinets under the DMA Servo Drive Modules series. The unit is a servo drive module that links a power supply section to synchronous or asynchronous motor windings, delivering controlled three-phase energy and processing real-time feedback to maintain commanded torque and velocity in industrial machinery.

The auxiliary 24 V line supplies 1.23 A to energize logic, gate drivers, and fan control, so the module continues basic monitoring even when the main bus is off. A non-regulated DC link of 715 VDC is created by the front-end supply; this higher level stores recovered braking energy before it is shaped by the regulator. Closed-loop operation draws a rated phase current of 12 Arms at an 8 kHz switching frequency, corresponding to everyday production loads. Thermal management relies on Air Cooling (Backplane), which uses cabinet airflow pulled across the heat sink mounted against the rack rail. When the inverter and control electronics dissipate heat during commutation and switching, the worst-case power converted to cabinet heat is limited to 180 W.

During high-inertia deceleration, the regulator keeps the internal bus at 670 VDC, preventing over-voltage trips while still returning energy to the mains filter. Motor position is resolved through a Resolver input, allowing absolute rotor angle detection without the complexity of digital encoders. Open-loop handling of large transient commands is possible because the drive can momentarily source 32 Arms per phase at the same carrier frequency. As a 3-phase module it accommodates both four-pole synchronous machines and standard induction motors, enabling mixed-technology cells where coordinated motion and vector-controlled spindles share a common DC bus.
