DMA Servo Drive Modules
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DMA Servo Drive Modules series, and the DMA 085B 6311-D belongs to this family. The unit is a three-phase drive module for synchronous and asynchronous motors, installed on a backplane inside centralized control cabinets. In automated machining cells and material-handling lines, it converts rectified DC link power into controlled, phase-accurate stator currents so the connected motor follows torque, speed, or position commands issued by the motion controller.
At the factory-set switching frequency of 8 kHz, the module delivers a continuous output of 31 Arms, while lowering the carrier to 4 kHz raises the continuous capability to 47 Arms. For short accelerations it can supply peak currents of 63 Arms at 8 kHz and 86 Arms at 4 kHz. A 24 V auxiliary bus draws only 1.35 A for internal logic and fan power, and the backplane air-cooling path removes up to 380 W of switching losses to keep cabinet temperature manageable. Above 45 °C ambient the output current must be reduced by 0.95 A per kelvin to stay within thermal limits. These figures allow the drive to maintain rated service without derating in most factory environments.
The DC link is supplied from an external rectifier; the non-regulated rail can climb to 715 VDC, yet the internal loop stabilizes operation around 670 VDC when a regulated source is used. Protection against touch and foreign objects is classified as IP20. With a mass of 11.5 kg and a 100 mm module width, the standard variant integrates easily on DMA racks. Encoder evaluation hardware accepts sine feedback up to 50 kHz or combined sine/cosine feedback up to 800 kHz, supporting high-resolution motor control.
