This unit, also known as the HLT05.1 brake chopper, takes DC 750 V power from the drive controller, dissipating excess energy when the DC bus voltage exceeds the necessary level. This process helps maintain the system's voltage level. The brake chopper has air cooling capabilities, using the surrounding air to regulate its temperature. It readily dissipates a power of 45 kW during continuous operation and faces a power loss of 250 W. The unit can dissipate a maximum of 85 kW energy in 60-second cycles. With a net weight of 7.5 kg, the model is easy to mount and should be handled by qualified personnel only. It can operate at temperatures up to +40 degrees Celsius and can be stored within the range of -25 to +70 degrees Celsius. It is constructed and tested based on EN 50178 standards, and incorporates galvanic insulation. The model, which comes with a one-year warranty, must be installed with adequate clearance for effective heat dissipation.
