HLT Braking Units

HLT Braking Units are Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive brake chopper modules used with HCS04 converters to increase regenerative braking capacity through an external braking resistor. In an HCS04 drive system, the converter handles control and monitoring of the HLT module, allowing braking performance to be expanded without replacing the main converter. The series is available in 200 kW and 400 kW braking-power classes, with both versions specified for a 12-second on-time within a 240-second cycle. Peak braking capability reaches up to 420 kW on the 200 kW model and up to 750 kW on the 400 kW model. Power dissipation is listed at 550 W and 1,050 W respectively. These units are designed as cabinet-mounted auxiliary components, with a common 377 mm depth, heights of 950 mm or 1,150 mm, widths of 70 mm or 310 mm, and model-dependent weights of 30 kg or 70 kg. Overall, the HLT series is suited for IndraDrive systems where regenerated energy must be handled through higher-capacity external braking hardware.
