MCP Linear Motors

Bosch Rexroth MCP Linear Motors are ironless linear motor primaries used for precise, high-speed positioning applications that require smooth travel and accurate motion coordination.

The motor primary uses a fully potted three-phase copper winding and moves within a U-shaped magnetic secondary to produce direct linear thrust. Because the design does not use an iron core, it avoids the magnetic attraction and cogging effects often associated with iron-core linear motors. This helps deliver consistent force output while keeping the moving mass low for fast acceleration and responsive positioning. MCP motors are designed for practical machine installation with several mounting surfaces and can be configured with an optional Hall sensor unit for initial commutation. In the available range, the series supports thrust values up to 3,320 N and speeds up to 1,400 m/min, making it suitable for rapid low-mass motion in applications such as pick-and-place systems, precision measurement equipment, and testing machinery.
