SOT Operator Panels

SOT Operator Panels, or Station Operator Terminals, are remote operator interfaces used with Indramat CLM control modules to extend front-panel control and display functions to a separate machine-mounted location. The SOT provides the same basic operator access as the CLM front panel while adding a larger display area and additional machine-control inputs. Its LCD screen has an approximate viewing area of 4-7/8 in × 2-3/4 in and can display 16 lines of 40 characters, allowing more operating information to be shown at once. Operator input is handled through click-contact keys along with dedicated machine-control functions that may be assigned to mode selection, axis jog forward and reverse, cycle start, cycle stop, cycle resume, and other machine-builder-defined pushbutton actions. The terminal connects through the CLM serial communication interface and can be mounted at longer distances using RS-485 communication, with supported cable runs up to about 1000 meters when properly wired. Screens and prompts can be created with Indramat ScreenManager software and downloaded to the terminal, allowing the SOT to provide guided operator messages, data entry, and machine-specific display layouts over the serial link.
